PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR SCOLIOSIS
SCOLIOSIS SPECIFIC PHYSIOTHERAPY
Scoliosis is a lateral curvature and rotation of the spine that is commonly diagnosed in the preteen years, but can affect pain and function well into adulthood. Each client is provided with a specific treatment plan using Schroth Method principles that is curve-specific and personalized to meet their goals and activities.
WHAT DOES A PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSION FOR SCOLIOSIS LOOK LIKE?
A physiotherapy session specific for scoliosis and other spinal conditions includes a thorough assessment of your specific curve, and understanding how it impacts your life, activities and function. Exercises based on the Schroth method are the foundation of treatment for scoliosis, and this is very specific to YOUR curve. These exercises help you stand taller, find centre and reduce pain. Other treatments, like manual therapy, muscle release, dry needling/IMS, will also be a part of a physiotherapy session for scoliosis.
